Histoire et tradition

  • Utilisée en médecine populaire en Inde pour traiter les pathologies du foie, les problèmes digestifs et le diabète, aux Antilles Françaises (Guadeloupe) sous forme d’infusion ou de décoction aqueuse contre le diabète, l’hypertension et l’hypercholestérolémie [1]
  • Elle a aussi une réputation de « brise-pierre » contre les lithiases rénales
