  • Les parties aériennes auraient été employées par les Amérindiens lors de rites de purifications
  • Les Amérindiens l'utilisaient comme calmant, sédatif, tonique du système nerveux (pour favoriser le sommeil, calmer les crises d'hystérie et les convulsions épileptiques et soigner divers autres troubles neurologiques), Scutellaria lateriflora était utilisée par les amérindiens Cherokee [1]
