Propriétés
- Analgésiant, anesthésiant (utilisé à ce titre dans la médecine traditionnelle Chinoise et Japonaise), antalgique avec inhibition du relargage des catecholamines [1], et anti-inflammatoire [2]
- Augmente la sensibilité des récepteurs GABA à leur ligand naturel et améliore l'activité de faibles doses de GABA à plus de 1000 % [3]
- Inhibe les récepteurs nicotiniques à l'acétylcholine [4]
- Effet vasorelaxant sur l'aorte thoracique de rat par blocage de l'influx calcique au niveau des canaux calciques voltage-dépendants et activation des canaux potassiques [5]
- Effet sédatif par inhalation [6]
- Effet de protection cérébrale [7], [8]
- L'isobornéol est antiherpétique [9]
